At BRMi, we believe in the power of leadership—different from management. Both disciplines are important in creating a successful team and organization, but we don’t confuse the two skillsets. Management is about planning; whereas, leadership is about inspiring. BRMi values leadership at all levels of the organization because it empowers staff members to be creative and develop great outcomes that a “manager” may not think of themselves. Great leaders exhibit some of the following characteristics:

  • Setting a vision
  • Inspiring and motivating people
  • Having a positive attitude
  • Great listeners
  • Showing the way by doing
  • Willing to try new ideas

We have some great examples of leadership at BRMi, including Suzanne K., who regularly paints a vision of what our clients are trying to achieve and inspires her team to perform outside their comfort zone, and Trevor B., who inspires BRMi staff and JMU students with his passion and ideas for the future in intelligent automation. Take a moment to think about how you can lead your teams to success!
