BRMi is launching a cross-departmental council to discuss Technology Business Management (TBM) implementation best practices. The council includes representatives from the Department of Justice, Department of Agriculture, and Department of Homeland Security IT policy and budget offices where BRMi is providing TBM support services. The CIO Council describes the TBM framework as “a powerful tool to further enable FITARA implementation and help the government benchmark IT spending, improve acquisitions, and better understand IT investment costs.”

BRMi’s internal knowledge-sharing and program reviews revealed that many of its clients are experiencing the same challenges and concerns although they are at varying levels of TBM maturity. BRMi envisions a community of CIOs, CFOs, procurement officials, policy leaders, and TBM experts coming together in a “round table” format to share their successes, failures and strategies regarding TBM implementation. The cross-departmental council will be hosted by the Department of Homeland Security and facilitated by BRMi. Participants are set to gather in September.
